LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Metro Police and a SWAT team are at the scene of standoff situation.

It started around 8:45 a.m. at the Mill Gate Apartments in the 9500 block of LaGrange Road.

Spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the SWAT team was called to the apartment Monday morning after detectives reported hearing a single gunshot from inside.

Detectives went to the apartment to question a suspect in an early morning robbery in which a clerk at a convenient store was shot and wounded.

Mitchell said the store clerk remained at University of Louisville hospital in “very critical condition.”
