Getting Pinny with it 11/4

Just about 20 days until Thanksgiving (where did this year go?!?). I thought it was just about time to share some awesome Pinterest finds.

These muffins I made last week- and they were the best muffins I ever had. {The mix WILL feel too dry- but I promise the muffins will come out moist and delicious!}

These little teepee cakes are on my to make list. {seriously can you imagine the kids eating these?!? CUTE!}

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving {beside turkey of course} is the sweet potatoes!

I’ve been looking on Pinterest for weeks now for great Thanksgiving ideas, there just isn’t much. Do people really not to Thanksgiving up big? Guess Ill start looking for Christmas ideas now!

From salad dressing to Veggie dip

I had the pleasure of being able to review Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip. Oddly enough I was super excited about it because Im ALWAYS too cheap to spend $3.18 on veggie dip mainly because I feel like I could just just salad dressing to dip my carrots and celery in. Honestly thats all I had done until I got this dip. And I seriously have to admit- I was WRONG. It wasn’t “watery” like traditional dressings are. It was actually really good. Id have to say in the future I probably will actually buy the Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt Dip. It was flavorful- and delicious. I was told that I could try it in a recipe- and would you believe I couldn’t think of anything to put it in?!? Now Im thinking it would be AMAZING with some buffalo chicken wraps. Like seriously good- Im going to have to go grab some wraps to try it with. (Dinner tomorrow here we come). The Marzetti website also has some great recipes as well. Like THIS tuna fish sandwich (OMG John might actually eat this!) Instead of adding mayonnaise and mustard and relish you add the veggie dip- which personally I like the idea of not mixing as much stuff in. Even these Oven Baked Sweet Potatoes sound SUPER good. Especially since, they’re healthy AND its getting closer to Thanksgiving and those sweet potatoes are going to be going on sale, and best part I know my kiddos would like these and they would be perfect for in they’re bento lunches.

Anywho, back to the dip. Chandler did try it with chips- because were weird like that and like ranch on our chips, (we also like it on our pizza rolls too). Surprisingly enough when we dipped the tortilla chips in the dip- it was VERY good. I would venture to even say it was better than the chip dip, mainly because its not all watery, but in the same sense its nots TOO chunky either (ever had a chip dip thats TOO chunky- its actually super gross).

So- in all- Chandler liked it- on basically everything. Ethan was very worried about trying it (even though he LOVES ranch dressing) He dipped his carrot in it just a little bit, and then licked the carrot. Then came back a and took a HUGE dip, Needless to say he liked it a lot. Obviously John didn’t try it because getting that man to eat veggies or ranch would be impossible- but I think if he did try it he would really enjoy it.

Long story short- Try Marzetti Otria Yogurt Veggie dip– its in the veggie section at your grocery store, its worth the money, and super delicious.

I was one of the bloggers selected by T. Marzetti Company and Clever Girls Collective to host a Marzetti Otria Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip review. They provided me with product to test and compensation for my time. However, my opinions are entirely my own.

Cheesecake Oreo Cookies AKA HEAVEN.

So today I was making cookie for the genius’s at the apple store for the 4s release. I was tweeting my butt of- and this recipe got a HUGE response. So I wanted to share it with everyone. (Not to mention these are the best cookies Ive ever had)

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
3 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs

– Heat oven to 375 degrees. Line your pan with the parchment paper. (Make sure to use this, because even WITH the parchment paper the bottoms got a little crunchy.

– Mix butter and cream cheese on medium speed until well mixed.

– Add sugar and vanilla extract and mix until the ingredients are well mixed. Add flour, mix well. Stir in the mini chocolate chips.

– Put the oreo crumbs in a separate bowl. Roll small (tablespoon sized) balls of the mixture then roll the balls in the oreo crumbs. Place on parchment paper and bake for 12-13 minutes.

I baked mine for 12 minutes, the bottom was slightly crunchy and the inside was chewy. Absolutely perfect!
Let cool, then enjoy with a cup of milk.

Best Cookies Ever!

I tried cake mix cookies for the first time ever. They were so good, so I wanted to share the recipe with my readers.

1 box any flavor cake mix (I used devils food)
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil

Add 1/2 cup oil and two eggs to one box of cake mix. Add chips, nuts, and flavorings if desired.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

This was so easy, I added ghirardelli baking chocolate mixed in, then Jayde dipped them into sprinkles, because sprinkles make everything awesome.

Now, go try this- takes no time at all, and if I can do it- you can do it! NOM!

New way to eat breakfast!

I’ve hooked to Pinterest lately. I found some super cute eggs and bacon prepared in a muffin pan, but my bunch doesn’t like sunny side up eggs. So I had to alter the recipe a little bit. (Forgive the horrible pictures)

Im cooking for 5, so consider that you can break this down however you would like. I guess if you wanted you could really just cook this for one!

Heres what you need:
7 eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 cheese slices
1/2 cup shredded cheese
Bacon (I used turkey bacon)

Pre heat oven to 400.
Cut your uncooked bacon in half.
Lay two pieces of bacon in each muffin tin spot- creating X’s in each one. (if you use turkey bacon remember to spray the muffin pan with PAM, so it won’t stick.
Now mix the eggs and milk.
Tear up the cheese slices and put into egg mix.
Pour egg mix into muffin pan, fill about 3/4 of the way as it will expand some.
Top each one with shredded cheese.
Cook each one for 12 minutes, though I would check at the 10 minute mark as I like my eggs to be super firm.
Salt and pepper to taste.

Spaghetti Dogs

Ok I know this sounds weird… but when I saw it on Pintrest I knew my kiddos would like them. Since they love Mac n Cheese and hot dogs. Its cheap- easy and the kids LOVE to help.

Have the kids use a butter knife (if their old enough) to cut up uncooked hot dogs into small pieces. Then have them push uncooked spaghetti noodles through the hot dog pieces. While they were doing this I put a pot of water on to boil.

Boil those bad boys until the spaghetti is soft to your liking.

I drained the spaghetti dogs and put them into two separate bowls.

One bowl we added cheese sauce, and the other…

We added spaghetti sauce.

Jayde liked the one with Spaghetti sauce.

Chandler agreed with Jayde and liked the spaghetti sauce better. Go figure. Ethan on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it. He swears I was going to put onions in it like I do our real spaghetti.

Spaghetti Tacos for the win!

Yes. I know it sounds weird. Which is exactly what I thought when I first heard about spaghetti tacos on iCarly, and I’m sure you all know my love for spaghetti is real. However I think my frequency of cooking spaghetti is a little much for my families liking. Which is why this is so brilliant!

Bear in mind I wasn’t brave enough to try it, mainly because I love spaghetti so much in its normal form. The best part is its INCREDIBLY easy to make!
Just take fresh spaghetti (however you cook it, noodles, sauce and all) and put it in a hard shell taco. You could even use leftover spaghetti to make a whole new meal out of it. I would even venture to say that chicken spaghetti would even be good in taco form. It must have been good because Ethan ate two STUFFED tacos, and hes not a fan of spaghetti at all.
So go, run along, and make some. I have some left over spaghetti (shocking I know) Im about to make me a late night snack out of spaghetti tacos! NOM!
